The NTT Pavilion was a crowd favourite spot at Expo 2025 Osaka thanks to its interactive displays and exciting insight into the future of technology.
But the really impressive future technology was quietly working behind the scenes. Without a single server on site, the data powering the pavilion’s displays were processed by a data center 25km away.
With near-zero latency, this was a powerful demonstration of how cutting edge photonics technology could be used to make digital infrastructure faster and more sustainable.
Technology stories like this are always a challenge but it’s a challenge we cherish. Using a combination of video filmed on site at the Expo and sophisticated computer generated imagery, we were able to create a visually stunning story that explains how it works and – crucially – how it could change the world.
