Projects – Sweden- Helsingborg

A Meeting Point

Seabed 2030

The Seabed 2030 BathySphere has been showcased in some pretty incredible places, but nothing beats the Swedish icebreaker, Oden.

Aboard this mighty ship, the BathySphere was on show for scientists, politicians, and also HRH The Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, who is keenly interested in ocean mapping.

Only 28.7 of our oceans are mapped accurately and completing the map will require a massive, collaborative, global effort.

Seabed 2030, a project of the Nippon Foundation and GEBCO is inspiring partners, from the governments who own unique vessels like Oden to the scientists who sail on it, to share their data and Oden has always answered the call.

Our team was slightly daunted when presenting to a princess, but the BathySphere is a pretty good icebreaker.
